Today we want to consider the sufficiency of Scripture. The Bible is everything God wants us to know regarding himself, and our relation to him.

Put another way, the Bible is God revealing himself and his salvation to all mankind. The Bible is the inerrant, comprehensive, sufficient communication of God to humanity, telling us who he is, what he has done to accomplish salvation, and what we are therefore to do ourselves.

Not surprisingly we find ourselves back at 2 Timothy 3:16-17. All scripture is given for this purpose, that any person desiring to know and please God will be thoroughly equipped to this end. So, in saying that Scripture is sufficient, we are basically saying that God accomplished what he meant to accomplish in giving us the Scriptures!
