When you think of a “practical” sermon, what potential subject matters come to mind? A message about personal finances? Or about family dynamics? Perhaps a "how to" on personal devotion time? Maybe even a message calling for charitable work?

These things certainly are practical, but the psalmist David reminds us that the most practical thing we can do is gaze by faith at the glory of God, until we once again are ravished with His beauty: "One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD..."

In this message, then, we consider at least nine practical and direct results of fixing one's gaze upon the glory of God by faith.
