A Psalm of Joy - Part 1 of 1

“O sing unto the Lord a new song; for he hath done marvellous things: his right hand, and his holy arm, hath gotten him the victory. Vs. 4, Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all the earth: make a loud noise, and rejoice, and sing praise” (Psalm 98:1 & 4).

First, we see this is a Psalm of joy and praise. We then note some of the reasons given us by the Psalmist to rejoice. The Lord has done marvellous things. We see that in creation, in His providence in the lives of His people, in Him ruling by His sovereign power, and verse 2 tells us, “The Lord has made known his salvation.” So then we see there is reason to rejoice because the King is coming back.
