“For whatsoever things were written aforetime were written for our learning, that we through patience and comfort of the scriptures might have hope” (Romans 15:4).
Many today are struggling from discouragement and will express a feeling of hopelessness. How good to know, however, that God identifies Himself as the God of hope and provides words of comfort in the scriptures.
In considering our text we first speak of the patience of the scriptures. Secondly the comfort of the scriptures and finally the hope of the scriptures. In the darkest and most difficult time we may ever face we know we are not alone if our trust is in the Lord and we go to His Word for the comfort we need.
