“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men” (Luke 2:14).
What good news when the angel spoke to the shepherds and said, “Fear not: for, behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy; which shall abe to all people. For unto you is born this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord.”
The long awaited Messiah had arrived! What man desperately needs is a Savior, and the Savior had come to earth to redeem fallen, ruined sinners.
No wonder they could sing, “Glory to God in the highest”! May we sing it with joy ourselves. The Savior came and he is Jesus Christ the Lord.
