When you read the sure promises and prophecies of God in Scripture, how do you respond? Are you moved to fatalism or enthusiasm? Do you pitch in the towel or do you pitch in to help? Do you quit working or do you redouble your efforts?

When Daniel realized the implications of Jeremiah’s prophecy, and the fact that the time foretold was drawing near, he was moved to more than resignation: he was moved to action.

This is clearly how God intends for us to respond. The sure statements of Scripture are not meant to put an end to prayer or action, but to be a firm jumping off place for our prayers and actions!
