Some of the grandest themes in all of Scripture are on full display in Genesis 45.

Here we see 1) God’s sovereignty over even our deepest suffering; 2) God’s unconditional forgiveness of undeserving sinners, and the resulting responsibility we have to forgive others; and 3) the gospel of Jesus Christ prefigured.

The glory of these themes will literally be unpacked, praised, and commented on continually for all of eternity. One preacher titled his sermon from Genesis 45 "God…God…God…God," echoing Joseph’s own repeated emphasis in this chapter. God is the ultimate subject of Genesis 45, and the gospel is his message.
