“So I bought her to me for fifteen pieces of silver, and for an homer of barley, and an half homer of barley” (Hosea 3:2).
First we see here a wife in trouble. Hosea’s wife, Gomer, continued to sink deeper in sin and was now to be sold as a slave. Next we see her husband rescuing her. What a message concerning the love of God for His people whom He has redeemed. And finally we observe a time of great blessing. When the backslider is brought back, when the lost is found is a time of rejoicing.
